February/March: Volume V, Issue 2
Circle to center on relationshipsA recovery support circle on relationships will be offered by Friends of Addiction Recovery-New Jersey beginning in April in Central Jersey. A The goal of the circle is to offer participants an opportunity to enhance or improve their existing relationships, learn skills that would help them enter into a relationship, or simply to learn more about relationships. We hope that this circle would benefit all and serve as a safe learning and sharing haven where individuals can gain insights, information, awareness and skills that can be used to enhance and transform their relationships. The skills can be used in a variety of settings, from home and family to job and friends.

Recovery Advocates Will Learn To Go Up Against Obstacles Faced By The Recovering Community The Recovery Ambassadors training imparted very specific skill sets from which to advocate for addiction recovery. A very exciting meeting held on November 9, 2005 reaffirmed using these skills to achieve NCADD-New Jersey/FOAR’s vision and mission. Our Vision: The positive aspects of addiction recovery will be visible, supported and known to the public, and the stigma attached to all individuals affected by addictions will be overcome.
November December: Volume IV, Issue 11
We planned two training sessions in Allentown – on November 30 and December 10 – to prepare individuals to run and facilitate the recovery support learning circles that Friends offers at halfway homes, correctional facilities, and for individuals in both early recovery and the general community. The trainings are also very useful and helpful for other membership and leadership activity.
