AddictionAction.org is a grassroots partnership working to promote HBO's groundbreaking ADDICTION Project, and help communities mobilize to build on this powerful opportunity to expand public understanding of addiction, treatment, and long-term recovery.

Addiction and the Family: Healing and Recovery - Webcast
Children of alcohol-and drug-addicted parents or guardians are profoundly affected by living with this experience. The show will examine intergenerational vulnerability and the risks involved for alcohol and other substance use disorders by the sons and daughters of addiction-prone homes. Family patterns, denial, and the elements for reaching recovery will be discussed as well as current trends in family interventions and programs.

Addiction involves multiple factors-biology, environment, and brain mechanisms. Although the term “addiction is disease” has become commonplace, public opinion polling shows, that 40 % of New Jerseyans continue view it as a moral failing.

Addiction Technology Transfer Centers (ATTC)
Addiction Technology Transfer Centers (ATTC) promote educational and research exchange among various disciplines and offers credentialing requirements for treatment professionals. The National ATTC distributes Eye on the Field, an electronic magazine containing information, features, and links to topical events in the addiction field.

Adult Drug Court Program- NJ
The mission of drug courts is to stop the abuse of alcohol and other drugs and related criminal activity. Drug courts are a highly specialized team process within the existing Superior Court structure that addresses nonviolent drug-related cases. They are unique in the criminal justice environment because they build a close collaborative relationship between criminal justice and drug treatment professionals.

Advocacy with Anonymity
This free brochure provides guidance to people in long-term recovery and their family members who want to speak publicly about the power of addiction recovery and advocate for policies that will make it possible for others to get the help they need. The brochure focuses on how to do this without violating anonymity traditions of 12-step groups.

Updated in 2006 through a partnership between Faces & Voices of Recovery, the Johnson Institute, Join Together and the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (NCADD).

Alcohol Policies Project -Center for Science in the Public Interest
The Alcohol Policies Project helps to focus public and policy maker attention on high-leverage policy reforms to reduce the devastating health and social consequences of drinking. Since then, the project has worked with thousands of organizations and individuals to promote a comprehensive, prevention-oriented policy strategy to change the role of alcohol in society.

American Society for Addiction Medicine (ASAM)
American Society for Addiction Medicine (ASAM) has resources for educating physicians on addiction disease and encouraging appropriate treatment for those suffering from addiction; highlights include a doctor referral database, reviews of medical research, and topical articles on addiction medicine and care.

America's Keswick Addiction Recovery Center
America's KESWICK offers a serene, peaceful haven to meet spiritual and physical needs. With a family-oriented, home-like atmosphere and year ‘round facilities, they are centrally located in Whiting, New Jersey - a short drive from Philadelphia or New York.
