NCADD-NJ PROPOSES MEASURE TO EXPAND TREATMENT
The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence –New Jersey proposed a measure that would add $10 million to the Alcohol Education Rehabilitation and Enforcement Fund (AEREF), which is a dedicated fund established to disburse treatment dollars to counties.

BENEFITS PANEL RECOMMENDS ENACTMENT OF PARITY BILL. Following a thorough review of the social, financial and medical efficacy impacts and implications for patients, providers and health benefits plans, the State Mandated Health Benefits Commission recommended enactment of parity legislation (A-333).

COMMISSION TO REVIEW ADDICTION COVERAGE
Legislation was referred to the Mandated Health Benefits Advisory Commission for review in November 2004. The 17-member Commission reviews bills introduced in the Legislature that require health insurance carriers to provide or offer a health benefit or coverage for certain benefits.
